Scorpion Alert is a home-safety system that automatically detects scorpions inside homes and sends photo-verified alerts to a phone. It has two parts: plug-in hardware detectors and a cloud-based AI monitoring subscription.
Detectors plug into standard wall outlets, which sit along the baseboards scorpions naturally follow — a behavior called thigmotaxis. When a room goes dark, a 365 nm UV LED makes a scorpion's exoskeleton fluoresce. The detector scans the floor about twice per second and screens images on the device, then sends only candidate frames to the cloud, where an AI model confirms whether a scorpion is present in about two seconds.
